Tollywood is getting back to its normal schedule, more specifically ‘new normal’. Anshuman Pratyush’s ‘SOS Kolkata’ was the first film to hit the shooting floors. Then Parambrata Chattopadhyay resumed the shooting of his next directorial ‘Abhijaan’, a biopic on thespian Soumitra Chattopadhyay, from July 14. The shoot for the biopic got stalled since March 17 due to the Lockdown. And now, after a long period of overcoming so many difficulties the shoot of ‘Abhijaan’ has finally been wrapped up.
Parambrata took to his Twitter handle to share the news with all. “The pandemic kept us hanging, jeopardised our plans , caused losses, but as a team we finally succeeded & wrapped the shoot of #Abhijaan last night! A huge hat tip to every member of this incredible team (a lot of them are not in the picture!),” wrote the actor-director.
The new safety norms on sets were all in place. All the necessary precautions, like wearing masks, temperature checks, regular sanitisation and social distancing, were being taken care of seriously by everyone.
In the film, produced by Rataan Shree Nirman & Roadshow Films Pvt. Ltd, Soumitra Chattopadhyay will play himself at his age while Jisshu Sengupta will essay the role of a younger Soumitra. Apart from Jisshu, Paoli Dam will be seen as Suchitra Sen, critically acclaimed filmmaker Qaushiq Mukherjee will essay Satyajit Ray. Sohini Sarkar will play Madhabi Mukhopadhyay. Rudranil Ghosh will take on the role of legendary Rabi Ghosh.
