Paran Bandopadhyay is gearing up for a stage performance after almost a year. “We have been booked for a theatre show titled Mitheybadi in Durgapur, in March. I remember, last year, before the pandemic we did our last show in Kolkata. I am looking forward to our show now as performing on stage gives me a different kind of satisfaction. Mitheybadi is written and directed by me. It is about how at times in life we need to lie for other’s good,” said the actor. How difficult is it to act and direct at the same time? “Well, everything is a habit and by now I know how to balance both. That apart, our team rehearses a lot before the final stage show. So, things are under control when we perform on stage on the final day,” said the actor.
Paran will start his theatre workshop from February onwards. “I don’t believe acting workshops can be done through online classes. I personally feel there should be eye contact between actors and one actor should be aware of the other actor’s body language to perform better on stage. We will start our classes from next month keeping all the safety measures in mind,” said Paran who shot for Diya Annapurna Ghosh’s film, Bob Biswas, in December.
“I am supposed to start shooting for Pathikrit Basu’s next film which is a comedy from February. The film also stars Ritwick Chakraborty. From March I will shoot for Rajiv Debnath’s film where Rituparna Sengupta plays the lead. The film revolves around a taxi driver’s life and I play a baul in this film,” said Paran.
