Pooja Bhatt feels there is “no point having stringent laws in Mumbai” as Maharashtra looks at another possible lockdown

Pooja Bhatt took to her Twitter handle to share a series of tweets where she opened up about people flouting COVID regulations on the outskirts of Mumbai. As Maharashtra looks at the possibility of another lockdown, the actress feels there is no point in having stringent laws.

She wrote, ‘Resorts operating on the outskirts of Mumbai host large gatherings with no covid checks & zero social distancing. Raigad in particular is a hot Favourite for such events. Local panchayat should ensure all protocol is maintained @RaigadPolice @iAditiTatkare @CMOMaharashtra’

In another tweet, she added, ‘No point having stringent laws in Mumbai when people shift their events to the outskirts where there is no check & zero accountability, putting their own lives & countless other lives of local population in jeopardy @RaigadPolice @iAditiTatkare @CMOMaharashtra’
On Sunday, the Mayor of Mumbai, Kishori Pednekar had issued a warning, directing citizens to follow the rules or face a lockdown. Yesterday, CM Uddhav Thackeray declared that he will be reviewing the need for a fresh lockdown after eight days.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Pooja was last seen in father Mahesh Bhatt’s ‘Sadak 2’. The movie starred Alia Bhatt and Aditya Roy Kapur in lead roles. It also featured Sanjay Dutt and Makrand Deshpande in key roles.
