Prosenjit Chatterjee has made it clear that he’s not joining politics. The Tollywood superstar took to his social media handles to rubbish all the speculations.
Interestingly, the possibility of Prosenjit joining politics has always been subject to wild rumours. This time around the rumours were reignited when the director of Syama Prasad Mookerjee Research Foundation Anirban Ganguly visited the Tollywood superstar and gifted him a copy of a book on Amit Shah. The picture of their meeting went viral on social media as it became the talk of the town.
However, according to the celebrated actor, he didn’t have any “political inclination” or “agenda” while hosting Anirban Ganguly. He has insisted he would like to focus only on acting and revealed that he has always followed the Bengali culture and tradition playing host to people from different industries and professions.
“As a Bengali it’s in our culture to greet and welcome our guests. I have played host to many in the past and from varied Industries and Profession. I love and respect their views but at the same time I have my own,” Prosenjit tweeted adding that: “There is no political inclination nor agenda apart from meeting and greeting Dr. Ganguly. I stay focused on what I know best-Acting.”
Interestingly, a group of Tollywood artistes including actors Yash Dasgupta, Soumili Ghosh Biswas, Papiya Adhikari, Minakshi Ghosh, Sutapa Mukherjee, Tramila Bhattacharya and Mallika Bannerjee, director Raj Mukherjee, producer-director Atanu Roy and music director Subhayu Bedoggo has joined BJP right after Prosenjit’s picture went viral on social media.
