The latest one to join the film industry from a filmi family is Akshith. Son of popular Kannada actor Shashi Kumar, Akshith will be making his debut with a multilingual film, titled Seethayanam.
A source says, “Shashi Kumar, aka Supreme Hero of Sandalwood, has acted in over 100 Kannada films, and he shot to popularity among Kollywood buffs after appearing in Baashha as Rajinikanth’s brother Shiva. His son Akshit is now making his foray into the industry with a film that’s being made in Tamil, Kannada and Telugu.”
Divulging details about the film, the source says, “The film, directed by Prabhakar, is a family drama, which drives home a strong message – respect women! Seethayanam revolves around a couple. There’s an unexpected twist in the hero’s love life. He is forced to oppose somebody he trusts and respects. Does he do it? The story has been narrated in a lively manner.”
Anahita Bhooshan plays the female lead, while Vidyu Raman, Vikram Sharma, Ajay Kosh, Madhunandhan and Sudarshan, among others, appear in pivotal roles. “Music has been composed by Padmanabh Bharadwaaj, son of popular Sandalwood composer Upendra Kumar. There are five songs in the album, and one of the highlights will be how a slokam that’s largely printed on wedding cards have been set to tune. While Swetha Mohan has sung the Telugu and Kannada versions of the song, singer SN Surendar’s daughter and actor Vijay’s niece, Pallavi Vinod, has sung the Tamil version,” the source says, “The film was shot in Bangkok, Mangalore, Agumbe, Hyderabad and Vizag, among other places, for 63 days. Post-production work is on now.”
