Rajit Dev: I have seen Ranveer Singh become a star, but he still meets me with the same warmth

Choreographer and music video director Rajit Dev, has choreographed a few seasons of ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ and many films. His work with Bollywood actor Ranveer Singh has been appreciated a lot. Rajit has choreographed Ranveer Singh in ‘Band Bajaa Baraat’.

Rajit said,” I love everything about Ranveer Singh. He’s like a brother to me. I taught him all the dance moves for his first film ‘Band Baaja Baraat’, while assisting Bollywood choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant. He has been such an inspiration for me. I have seen his journey of becoming a star, but he still meets me the same way which he used to; earlier. He has immense respect for my talent. I also worked with him in a music video. From then onwards, I have worked with Ranveer Singh for various commercials. I have also worked on his stage shows. His energy is infectious. He is a complete package.”

He also added, “When I first started working with him, he told me that I should become an actor in South movies because he feels I have all the qualities. He told me how tall and handsome I am and I can also dance. He told me how being a South Indian I should try my luck in South films. I still laugh when he praises me. Ranveer Singh is my brother and a big support. I love him a lot.”

Rajit believes in hard work. He said, “Live and let live. It is nice to be important but it is more important to be nice.” Rajit started his career as a dancer when he was 17 and featured as a backup dancer in Hrithik Roshan’s song Main Aisa kyu Hun (‘Lakshya’). He was also seen in Ganesh Hegde’s Main Deewana, after which he participated in the dance reality show ‘Just Dance’ and made it to the top four. He has even assisted choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant for eight years and participated in ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ with celebrity contestants like Pooja Bose, Kavita Kaushik, and Karishma Tanna. He has choreographed for films like ‘Meri Pyaari Bindu’, ‘Jai Gangaajal’ and ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha’.
