Rhea Chakraborty and brother Showik likely to file for bail application

Rhea Chakraborty and brother Showik are expected to file for bail application today. According to Times Now, two separate bail applications will be filed today before the High Court with a plea for urgent hearing so that the matter can be heard tomorrow. On Monday, advocate Satish Manshinde, who is representing the Chakrabortys, had shared in a statement that they are in no hurry to apply for bail. “Even if we get a copy of the Order today, we are not in a hurry and moving immediately… we will study the order, it’s implications and developments in the case at the NCB level and then decide. There’s no room for speculation… once it is filed we will share a copy of the bail application.”

After three days of questioning, the Narcotics Drugs Bureau had arrested Rhea Chakraborty last week. The NCB got 14-days judicial custody of the ‘Jalebi’ actress, who is reportedly lodged at Byculla jail. Rhea and her brother Showik are being investigated by the NCB, after their chat records had mentions of drugs. The Enforcement Directorate, who is probing the money laundering angle, had reportedly shared these chat with the NCB.

Apart from Rhea’s bail plea, the Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) is also expected to announce the order today with regards to her visit to the Hospital mortuary where Sushant Singh Rajput’s mortal remains were kept. The SHRC had reportedly issued a notice to the management of the Hospital and the Mumbai police with regards to Rhea getting access.
