Richa Chadha is back on the sets of her next venture and has been shooting in Lucknow for a start-to-finish schedule. She has returned the face the camera after months of lockdown due to the pandemic. Interestingly, as part of prep for her character, Richa took up Urdu shayari. While her character in the movie doesn’t speak Urdu, it has a lehja or manner, which she attempted to perfect during the shoot. Richa Chadha actress spent time honing her Urdu pronunciation. The producers had also hired a diction expert from Lucknow to help the cast perfect the correct pronunciations
“It’s essential to stay authentic to the character and as actors it’s primarily our job to perfect every element of our character. I am glad this film allows me the opportunity. I was already interested in shayaris so that came in handy. Exploring language, places and culture is the most thrilling aspect about being an actor. Every day is a learning experience and this shoot, drenched in old world nostalgia was fulfilling,” shared Richa.
Growing up in Delhi, Richa has always enjoyed shayari and is familiar with the works of Mirza Ghalib, Faiz Ahmed Faiz, Bashir Badr and Chakbast among others.
