After the 2016-release Pazhaya Vannarapettai and the recent Draupathi, director Mohan G and actor Richard Rishi have teamed up for yet another movie, titled Rudra Thandavam.
“It’s a political crime thriller, set in Chennai, especially north Chennai. The story is based on a judgement, and has both fictional and real-life elements,” begins Mohan. The filmmaker came up with the story during the lockdown. “This is a script I wrote after Draupathi released. We are finalising the dialogues now,” he informs.
While he is tight-lipped about Richard Rishi’s role in the film, he says, “His character has two shades. He is now working on his physique — he has to lose weight and look fit for one of the portions. So, he has been gymming and eating right.”
The director continues, “We are yet to finalise the female lead. Jubin, who composed music for both my previous films, is part of this one as well. Farooq, who is one of the leading cinematographers in the ad world, will be cranking the camera. We plan to go on floors in December and release the film before the state election.”
