Saurav Das, who was shooting in Bolpur for Mandip Saha’s directorial debut, Iskabon, met with an accident on Thursday while returning to the hotel. Speaking about the incident, Saurav said, “We were driving back to the hotel from the shooting location around 10.30 pm when a truck appeared out of nowhere ahead of us. It would have been a head-on collision had our driver not reacted fast. The car had hit a lamp post and I injured my head. I was taken to Sian hospital in Bolpur where a CT scan was done. I was released after they found that there was no internal hemorrhage. I returned home today but my head is still swollen and aching. The doctor has advised a few days’ rest.” The actor, who will soon leave for Mumbai to shoot for a Hindi OTT project, said the accident made him realise how uncertain life is. “I thank God I escaped with a minor injury. Two days of Iskabon’s shooting is left and we’ll complete it in Kolkata,” he said.
Iskabon revolves around a place called Golbibi Bajar in Jangalmahal. A local leader, Narenji, forms his own party and tries to fight for the rights of the area’s people. “The film also shows Maoist activities and life in the village. Love and politics are two important elements in the film,” Saurav told us.
