It’s already evident that handsome hunk Gopichand has joined hands with director Sampath Nandi for a high-octane sports drama titled as ‘Seetimaarr.’ Prior to the lockdown, almost 60% shoot has been wrapped up in three schedules which took place at Rajahmundry and Hyderabad. According to the latest announcement from the makers, the shooting of the film will be resumed from November 23rd and will be completed in a single schedule.
Billed to be a sports-drama, Gopichand will be playing the coach of the Andhra Kabaddi team in ‘Seetimaarr’ and leading lady Tamannaah Bhatia will be seen as Jwala Reddy, the coach of Telangana Kabaddi team. ‘Hippi’ actress Digangana Suryavanshi will step into the shoes of a village belle who is head over heels in love with the protagonist.
Director Sampath Nandi said “After a long warm-up, solid stretches and power-packed practice, the cast and crew are eagerly looking forward to resuming the shooting of Seetimaarr from November 23. Besides being a sports-drama with an emotional plot, there are enough commercial elements in the film to satisfy the masses.”
Starring former heroine Bhumika Chawla in a pivotal role, the supporting cast of Seetimaarr include Posani Krishna Murali, Rao Ramesh, Rehaman, and Bollywood actor Tarun Arora. While Mani Sharma is composing the music, the film is bankrolled by Srinivasaa Silver Screen.
To fit the bill as a Kabaddi coach, Tamannaah underwent a body transformation and got trained in the sport. Speaking about her part, she said “My role is a tribute of sorts to coaches like Pullela Gopichand, Ramakant Achrekar, Guru Hanuman, Satpal Singh and the likes who have turned things around for Indian sports.”
