Director Selvaraghavan’s long-delayed Nenjam Marapathillai has announced its release on March 5. The film stars SJ Suryah, Nandita Swetha and Regina Cassandra in important roles. The movie is produced by Ondraga Entertainment, Glo Studios, and Escape Artists. Though the film was completed about five years ago, it could not be released due to certain financial issues. Recently, Rockfort Entertainment has bagged its theatrical releases and the release date was announced. The movie’s trailer and the recent sneak peek released by its hero, Suryah, were very well received by the movie buffs.
In the movie, Suryah plays an industrialist, Nandita his wife and Regina as their child’s caretaker. After watching the trailer of the movie, even Thalapathy Vijay had called Suryah and congratulated him. Selvaraghavan had earlier said that the movie is neither a horror-thriller nor a psycho-thriller but a genre he has experimented with. While Selvaraghavan has penned the lyrics for all the four songs in the film, Yuvan Shankar Raja had composed the music for the movie. Yuvan and Selvaraghavan had teamed up after 10 years through this movie after their outing in Pudhupettai.
However, in a last-minute twist to the movie’s release, based on an application filed by M/s Radiance Media Pvt Ltd, the High Court of Madras has granted an injunction until 15.03.2021, restraining the respondents’ Escape Artists Motion Pictures from releasing the film, Nenjam Marappathillai. Radiance Media has approached the court mentioning that Escape Artists owes 1.24 crore rupees to them.
