Shah Rukh Khan to reunite with Deepika Padukone for director Atlee’s ‘Sanki’

The wait for Shah Rukh Khan’s next big film venture may have been a long one, but now, fans are sure to be left spoilt for choice. The star is reportedly set to reunite with Deepika Padukone for a film with Tamil director Atlee.

According to a report on Filmfare, King Khan and Deepika have come on-board for the film that has been titled ‘Sanki’. Get ready for the sparks to fly all over again as the pair is said to romance each-other for the fourth time.

According to the report, Deepika “loved the story” of the film that is said to be an all-out commercial entertainer. The actress teamed up with the superstar in three blockbuster hits that included ‘Om Shanti Om’, ‘Chennai Express’ and ‘Happy New Year’.

Shah Rukh teaming up with Atlee has long been in the news. Reports stated that while trying to make the Tamil-Hindi bilingual film with a pan-India appeal, the makers were trying to make sure that the director’s trademark style is retained in the script. The film was expected to go on floors early 2021, but it remains to be seen if the team can keep up with their schedule after the covid-induced lockdown.

Meanwhile, SRK has also signed films with Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK and has also committed to working in Rajkumar Hirani’s next directorial.

While this is said to be the third film on SRK’s calendar, Deepika also has a busy schedule to keep up with. The actress is set to start shooting Shakun Batra’s next with Ananya Panday and Siddhant Chaturvedi, an untitled next with Prabhas and even her home-production ‘Draupadi’.
