After taking an indirect dig at Mukesh Khanna over ‘Ramayan’ row, Shatrughan Sinha has now taken a dig at Akshay Kumar for his huge contribution of Rs 25 crore towards PM’s CARES fund in wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
In a recent interview, the actor said that announcing charity is ‘vulgar’. He said that it is offensive and demoralizing to hear someone has contributed Rs 25 crore. He said that one will be judged by its volume of concern for the current situation by the amount of money.
He also added that in no part of the world, celebrities flaunt the amount they give for charity and that charitable causes are meant to be a private affair. He said that he fears that “showbiz” will be replaced by “show-off biz.” He further even said that after hearing about someone donating Rs 25 crore, he wonders if his amount will be of any use.
Shatrughan Sinha also praised PM Narendra Modi for the lockdown but he complained that it came too late. He also questioned American President Donald Trump’s visit to India at a time when the pandemic had already broken out across the globe.
