Shruti Haasan has finished shooting a schedule of her pan-Indian film Salaar, which will see her pairing up with Prabhas for the first time. The actress says, “It will be a very action-packed dramatic film and I have finished shooting for one schedule. The director (Prashant Neel of KGF fame) is wonderful to work with. As is Prabhas.” Talking about her co-star, she adds, “He is the only star in Telugu who I hadn’t worked with until now. He is really warm. There are some people who portray themselves to be down-to-earth, but he is genuinely down-to-earth. He is someone who gets along with everyone and brings good vibes on the set.”
The actress says that she cannot reveal much about her role because “it is still too nascent to talk about it”, but informs that her character won’t be performing stunts even though the film will be heavy on action.
Shruti says she is glad that film shoots have resumed after the lockdown. “I personally value what it means for people to come to the set and work. COVID has meant financial difficulties for so many people,” she says and adds that most of the sets have been careful about following COVID protocols. “But the pandemic isn’t over, so it is very important to remain safe,” she stresses.
The actress admits that the new normal on sets did make it a bit difficult for her initially. “In the beginning, it was difficult for me to focus on my work, as I have to always be careful. But if the team around you is serious about safety, it becomes easy. Only when you have to repeatedly ask people to wear their mask or sanitise, it becomes a hindrance. Having said that, it is a small price to pay for everyone to be safe and for continuing to work,” she states.
So, what safety precautions does she take personally? “I always wear a mask, and sanitise regularly. And my close circle is regularly screened,” she says.
