Sivakarthikeyan kickstarts 'Don' shooting in Coimbatore

The shooting of Sivakarthikeyan starrer ‘Don’ commenced this morning, February 11, 2021, in Coimbatore with a puja ritual ceremony that was graced by the entire cast and crew.

Directed by debutant Cibi Chakaravarthi, who worked as an associate to Atlee, the film is touted to be an out-and-out comedy entertainer set against the college backdrops. Actress Priyanka Arul Mohan, who is playing the female lead role, is teaming up with Sivakarthikeyan for the second time after ‘Doctor’. SJ Suryah, too, has been roped in to play one of the leads in the film. Other actors like Soori, Samuthirakani, Vijay TV fame Sivangi, RJ Vijay, Munishkanth, Bala Saravanan, Kaali Venkat and a few more actors will be playing pivotal roles in the film. Both Sivakarthikeyan and Soori will be playing college students in the film.

In an earlier interview with us, Cibi said, “I had written this script a while ago, and finally got an opportunity to meet Siva anna for a script narration. The film will be a wholesome entertainment, with a lot of comedy and drama. SK plays an engineering student… semma ragalayana student.” But why call it Don? “He is a college rebel. Nothing too serious.. but there will always be that guy in our gang who keeps making fun of everything, right? He essays that kind of role. Ivaaru kaththi thookura don illa, kathi sirikka vekkura don,” added Cibi.

Anirudh will be reuniting with Sivakarthikeyan for the seventh time in this film, and will be scoring music. The film is produced by Subaskaran Allirajah in association with Sivakarthikeyan’s production house.
