Sonakshi Sinha reveals that she was not asked if she wanted to star in ‘Dabangg’

Shatrughan Sinha’s darling daughter Sonakshi Sinha made her big Bollywood debut with Salman Khan starrer, ‘Dabangg’ in 2010. As this year marks her ten glorious years in the film industry, she reveals how coming to films was not her choice and that she was happy doing fashion designing.

Spilling some more beans on the same, Sonakshi reportedly told a news portal that life before her debut was going in a different direction as she was studying fashion designing. It was Salman and Arbaaz Khan who spotted her and felt she would fit the role of Rajjo perfectly. She revealed that she wasn’t asked if she wanted to do the film, she was told. And she did.

Elaborating further, she added that while shooting the film, she realised that she actually enjoyed it and wanted to continue doing it for the rest of her life. She also stated that after ‘Dabangg’, it took a while for it to sink that it has released and become such a big hit. She added that people suddenly started recognising her on the streets and calling out her name. She would go to cricket matches and people would say ‘you are the Dabangg girl’. She said that she was always a low-key person, so even though she had seen her dad see it, she never experienced this in a way like that.

Talking about her ten years in the film industry, Sonakshi reportedly said that she still feels she just made her debut yesterday. She stated that she has enjoyed the work she did. Elaborating more, she added that she doesn’t even want to sit and think where the last 10 years went, she looks forward to all good things coming her way, because she wants to make sure she worked harder and not get complacent.
