The real-life hero Sonu Sood won another prestigious award on Monday for his humanitarian efforts. The Julayi actor has bagged the SDG Special Humanitarian Action Award by the United Nations Development Programme. With this international honour, Sonu joins the list of global personalities like Angelina Jolie, David Beckham, Leonardo DiCaprio, Emma Watson and Liam Neeson, who also received this honour from different wings of UN.
The Dookudu actor, who attended the award ceremony virtually on Monday couldn’t contain his excitement. When we spoke to him, he said, “This is a rare honour. UN recognition is very special. I have done whatever little I could, in my own humble way, for my fellow countrymen without any expectations. However, to be recognised and awarded feels good. I fully support the UNDP in its endeavours to achieve the SDGs by 2030. Planet Earth and mankind will greatly benefit from the implementation of these goals.” His fans have been sending their favourite hero congratulatory messages while wishing him success in all his endeavours.
Currently, the actor is shooting in Hyderabad with Bellamkonda Srinivas, Prakash Raj and Nabha Natesh for Alludu Adhurs. When he entered the sets on his first day, he was welcomed by his co-stars and crew with cheers and applause for his good deeds towards humanity. Even Prakash Raj came forward to thank the actor and felicitated him with flowers.
