Srikanth's son Roshan to play the lead in the sequel of Pelli Sandadi

After 24 years, the 1996 blockbuster Pelli Sandadi starring actor Srikanth will finally see its sequel that will go on floors next year. Legendary director K Raghavendra Rao who directed the actual Pelli Sandadi will supervise the direction while Gowri Ronanki is going to direct this flick.

Srikanth took to Twitter to make the official announcement and wrote, “Very Happy to share this news.K Krishna Mohan Rao & @ArkaMediaWorks present, A RK film associates Production… #PelliSandaD. Meet our hero, Roshan..An @MMKeeravaani Musical.. Direction Supervision @Ragavendraraoba. Directed by Gowri Ronanki”(sic). According to the makers, the sequel will hit the theatres in 2021. Though the lead actor has been zeroed in, the hunt for a female lead is still on. The original 1996 film starred actresses Ravali and Deepti Bhatnagar and went on to become one of the most popular films of Tollywood. So much so that it was remade in Hindi as Mere Sapno Ki Rani featuring Sanjay Kapoor and Urmila Matondkar.

For Roshan, this is not the first time that he would be seen on the big screen. He was earlier seen in Nirmala Convent that released in 2016. Produced by Nagarjuna Akkineni, the film was based on a love story between a poor farmer boy and a rich girl.
