While wife Sakhi Gokhale has returned to India, after completing her graduation from London, Suvrat Joshi will have to stay back there for some more time.
Actor, who was last seen in Mrunmayee Deshpande’s ‘Mann Fakira’, reveals, “I’m staying back because I will start shooting for a Marathi film. I won’t be able to speak much about the project at the juncture. But it feels good to see that in these testing times, Marathi cinema is getting back on track slowly and steadily. It is commendable how a few filmmakers are seriously working towards the same and I hope they succeed in their endeavours.”
Suvrat who travelled to London after the US tour of his Marathi play ‘Amar Photo Studio’ ended abruptly, has been staying there for the past six months now. “I’m missing my family a lot. Earlier, back in India, due to my busy schedule, I would not get time to call up my mother sometimes. But now I make sure I call her every single day. I must share that I’m absolutely amazed at how my mother and mother-in-law Shubhangi Gokhale are pulling off this difficult phase so beautifully. In fact, they are being a strong support to their domestic staff as well,” says Suvrat, adding that these six months gave him and Sakhee an opportunity to spend a lot of good time together.
Interestingly, his last Marathi release ‘Mann Fakira’ was also majorly shot in London. The film also starred Ankit Mohan, Anjali Patil and Sayali Sanjeev.
