#TeachersDayFlashback: Srijit Mukherji looks up to four mentors. Find out who they are

Teachers are not just educators; they are guides who help you discover your true calling and help you set your sights straight. And when that calling is something creative like acting, filmmaking or even making music, a good teacher can make a world of difference. On Teacher’s Day today, Srijit Mukherji reveals his guiding lights and how they influenced his career. I’ve never been to any film school; I learnt the art of storytelling from four persons — Aparna Sen, Anjan Dutt, Rituparno Ghosh and Kaushik Ganguly. Assisting Rinadi (Aparna Sen) and Anjanda enriched me as a director. In 2009, I wanted to assist Kaushikda, who I address as my mastermoshai, but couldn’t because he already had a directorial team. I learnt everything about filmmaking from them, so Happy Teacher’s Day to all four.
