Actor Ajith has developed a new passion during the lockdown. The actor known for his interests in racing, biking, photography, rifle shooting, aero modelling and cooking has apparently picked up gardening to while away time in the lockdown period. It is reported that the actor has turned the backyard of his house into a flower garden and he takes care of the plants. He has grown nearly 75 species of flowers which include herbs. Thala Ajith had helped the COVID-19 relief work by acting as a mentor for the IIT Madras team Daksha to design high-capacity drone that can spray disinfectant. The drone has the capacity to spray 16 litres of disinfectant and can cover one acre in 30 minutes, which came in handy for the relief work. The actor was shooting for H Vinoth's Valimai when the lockdown was announced. He plays a cop in the movie, an action entertainer. Even though the government allowed partial opening up of shooting with minimum crew and post-production work sometime ago, he didn't hurry up. He asked his producer and director to wait for the spread of the virus to come under control and didn’t want to risk the health and lives of crew members.
