Tharun Kumar, lead actor of Thaen, which is one of the Tamil films selected to be screened at the International Competition at Indian Panorama Feature Films is elated that his movie is getting recognised at one of the topmost platforms. Tharun, who is in Goa, where IFFI is taking place has thanked the supporters and organisers while requesting everyone to support the movie. Thaen directed by Ganesh Vinayakan, is a gripping tale of a couple living with their mute daughter in the Nilgiris forest. The film’s heroine is Abarnathi , who rose to fame with her stint in a reality show with Arya, titled Enga Veettu Mappilai.
Anusri plays the mute girl in the movie. The movie while showcasing the beauty of the forest also shows the apathy and exploitation of the inhabita nts by the people in cities. Tharun and Abarnathi’s performances in the movie were well appreciated. Tharun could bring out the naïve forest dweller who is extra protective of his forests and also the helplessness of a man who could not get proper treatment for his wife.
The other Tamil film selected in the Indian Panorama 2020 is Dhanush-starrer Asuran, a revenge drama of an oppressed family, directed by Vetrimaaran.
