The Secret of the woman has given me a lot of insights on acting: Niranjana Anoop

Niranjana Anoop’s recent video where she is performing classical dance for Bala Kanaka song from Kamala Haasan’s Sagara Sangamam is a treat to watch. The actress who has been at home during lockdown is now regularly practicing dance and attending online classes for her masters’ in communication.

Post lockdown, she has completed the shoot of Prajish Sen’s Secret of The Women. “I had always desired to work with Prajishettan. He saw a picture of mine on Instagram which my Amma clicked casually at home. He saw it at the right moment when he was searching for an actress for The Secret of The Woman. He found similarity with the character, Jeena, in his movie. He narrated the story to me and the movie happened,” she says.

The Secret of The Women is an emotional thriller. “It is a beautiful team work. Prajishettan and team just led me through the movie. It is first time I am doing a lead role and also an intense one. I had a fantastic experience working with the director. It has given me a lot of insights on acting,” she says.

Niranjana completed her graduation just before lockdown. “I was in a vacation mode when lockdown declared and thought it will open up very soon. Later on, I understood we are all going to be inside our homes for a while. Thankfully, Amma’s dance classes quickly became online. I concentrated on dance and it was a good diversion,” she says adding that her another hobby now is binge watching classical dance performances online. “That’s how I did the recent one from Sagara Sangamam,” she says.

In a few months, her results were out, and she joined for her post-graduation as well. “I am pursuing my master’s in mass communication and Journalism. Classes are happening online,” she says.
