Actress Rashmika Mandanna will be making her Tamil debut with Sulthan, starring Karthi. The Tollywood and Sandalwood sensation plays the female lead in this commercial entertainer directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan of Remo fame.
The first look of the film was released by the team today, and has an angry-looking Karthi holding a whip. Reacting to this look, the actress tweeted that she found Karthi’s look to be super scary. “First look of #Sulthan .. @Karthi_Offl sir.. offffooo.. you look super scary ya,” she posted.
Given that this marks her debut in Kollywood, the actress also wrote that she was grateful to be working in a industry whose films she had watched as a little girl. “A few words about #Sulthan is that it’s my first Tamil film and since I was a little girl dad and I have watched so many Tamil films and it feels surreal that now I get to work with such big and yet humble and wonderful people.. I am truly greatful for all that I have right now, (sic)” stated the actress.
“Thankyou. I hope we have your support and love.. #Grateful, (sic)” the Geetha Govindam actress also added.
She had previously called the film’s team “one of the sweetest teams I’ve worked with”. “Apart from shooting in tough locations and me constantly falling sick.. I had always had fun on this set..,” she had tweeted a few days ago.
Rashmika is currently part of a handful of films across the Tamil, Telugu and Kannada industries. Apart from Sulthan in Tamil, she is playing the female lead in Allu Arjun’s Pushpa, and Sharwanand’s Aadallu Meeku Joharlu in Telugu, and Dhruva Sarja’s Pogaru in Kannada.
