TN government allows films shoots to resume

Kollywood film industry has been going through a difficult time since the coronavirus spread began all over the world. The Central government stopped film shoots along with many other restrictions on different industries.

Five months into the lockdown, many producers and directors met the Tamil Nadu chief minister and requested him to give permission for the film shooting to resume as many workers have been hit by the lockdown. In the recent relaxation the Tamil Nadu government has provided, the government has allowed film shoots to resume bringing joy to the members of film industry.

The government in a recent statement on the relaxations provided mentioned that film shoots can resume with 75 people on the set. The statement also read that the team shooting should follow all protocols. It also mentions that public will not be allowed on the sets of the film. A few producers and actors took to their social media handles to thank the government for allowing film shoots to resume.

Television shoots resumed a few days back with a set of safety guidelines to be followed. The government has not allowed opening of theatres which has disappointed theatre owners who have been struggling without income for the past few months. A few film shoots resumed with special permission a few days ago.
