Yash Chopra’s Veer Zaara is a romantic love story, produced by Aditya Chopra and Yash Chopra under Yash Raj Films, editing was done by Ritesh Soni, and cinematography was done by Anil Mehta.
It stars Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Rani Mukherjee playing a lead role with supporting cast Anupam Kher, Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Manoj Bajpai, Kirron Kher, Boman Irani, and Divya Dutta.
It was released on 12 November 2004, it becomes the highest-grossing film of the year and it also receives positive reviews from critics, it has grossed ₹976.4 million worldwide

Late Madan Mohan was given the beautiful music and lyrics was written by Javed Akhtar, the vocals are provided by Lata Mangeshkar, Jagjit Singh, Udit Narayan, Sonu Nigam, Gurdas Mann, Roop Kumar Rathod, Ahmed Hussain, Mohammad Hussain, and Pritha Mazumder.
The story was based on a very old and weak Squadron Leader Veer Pratap Singh (Shah Rukh Khan) who has been decaying in a Pakistani prison for twenty-two years, abandoning his freedom and happiness only for the sake of his love Zaara’s happiness (Preity Zinta). Saamiya Siddiqui (Rani Mukherjee), a local lawyer representing the Human Rights Commission undertakes the challenge of fighting for Veer so he can return to India. As Saamiya tries to unearth the hidden truth behind why and how Veer ended up in this situation, the Major part of the film is Veer’s narration of his love story to Saamiya.
Performance-wise Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta both are outstanding, Rani Mukherjee performance was good, Amitabh Bachchan was Awesome and one of the best performance of his life in a short role, Hema Malini looked cool as well as did her part with perfection.
