Actor Vijay Sethupathi has announced that he has put an end to the Sri Lankan cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan biopic controversy. The actor had visited Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami at his residence today and offered his condolences to him. He also paid tribute to TN CM’s late mother.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Vijay Sethupathi said that he has put a full stop to the biopic. “When you say, ‘Nanri, Vanakkam’, it means that you have put an end to something. “ He also requested people to not discuss this issue any further.
Earlier in the day, Mutiah Muralitharan had shared a statement in which he had requested Vijay Sethupathi to opt out of the project to avoid any further controversies. He had written ” I don’t want one of the finest actors in Tamil cinema to face any kind of trouble due to me, hence I request him to drop out of the project. There shouldn’t be any hurdle for Vijay Sethupathi in the future because of this film.” Vijay Sethupathi had replied with a cryptic post that read, “Nanri, Vanakkam’.”
