The new poster sees Rana dressed in his comrade outfit while Sai Pallavi is dressed in a simple langa voni. Their characters walk hand in hand, all smiles and fans can’t help but go gaga over them. The poster also promises that the film will hit screens this summer, while a release date is yet to be announced. Sharing the poster Rana wrote, “Happy Sankranthi everyone!! #Viraataparvam moves into post-production and will be in cinemas this summer!!” (sic) while Sai Pallavi wrote, “Mee andhariki Sankranthi Subhakankshalu.” (sic)
Viraata Parvam will see Rana play the role of Dr Ravi Shankar alias Comrade Ravanna, an educated man who takes to naxalism due to the system. Apart from the lead pair, the historical love story stars Nandita Das, Priyamani, Nivetha Pethuraj, Naveen Chandra, Zarina Wahab, Easwari Rai, Sai Chand and others in key roles. The film will see cinematography by Dani Sanchez-Lopez and music by Suresh Bobbili.
The film is based on the Naxal moment that happened in Telangana in the 90s with the director penning the story based on incidents he witnessed in his childhood in Warangal. A ‘first glimpse’ of the film has already been released by the makers and received well by fans. With all the promotional material receiving great response, fans are curious to know more about the film.
