The joy of giving and living frugally was reinstated in most people’s mind in the year 2020. Actress Debleena Dutt Mukherjee, who has been doing social work since long, missed the opportunity last year. She is more than willing to make it up this year. “My husband Tathagata and I have been associated with this work for long. We like to distribute clothes to the underprivileged every year. Along with an NGO, we collect five-six trucks of clothes and visit the interiors of Bengal,” she said.
The actress does this religiously. She takes out time from her busy schedule to carry out this work every year. “I really look forward to this every year. It fills me with immense joy and satisfaction. But due to the pandemic, I was unable to do all that in 2020. These Covid times are scary and like everyone else we were also trying to come as less as possible in contact with other people,” Debleena said.
Instead, she has made a resolution to make up for lost time. “This year, we have decided that we will collect clothes and fill up five-six trucks to take them to the needy again. But this time we are going to do it twice. We will distribute clothes to the needy twice this year. This is my New Year’s resolution,” said Debleena.
