Actor Tota Roy Choudhury whose recent Feluda act in a web series directed by Srijit Mukherjee floored all feels optimistic as the film industries across the country have started opening up after the lockdown. Tota is hopeful that all his pending projects would start soon. Among his projects, one Bollywood film, one Hindi web series and a couple of south Indian projects had been shelved because of the lockdown.
“One of these projects, having an ensemble cast including four or five very busy actors, was all set to start from May or June 2020. Now the makers have contacted me to say that it is getting so difficult to get dates of the actors that it cannot start before May 2022,” Tota shared with ETimes, adding that in 2021, he has a couple of interesting south Indian projects lined up.
Meanwhile, the actor is enjoying his work in a popular Bengali serial and said he would certainly be a part of television projects if it can accommodate him. He said he started working for the serial Sreemoyee in February 2020, while the character of Rohit Sen was offered to him in December 2019.
“I agreed to do it and told Leena di (Ganguly) to wait for a few months, as I was busy with a couple of other projects. She wrote the character in a certain way that I shoot for Sreemoyee for a few months and then I can concentrate on my other projects too. If television can accommodate me in this way, I am more than eager to work,” Tota said, adding that with television, he can reach audiences who he cannot reach with his films or OTT.
