Yash is all set to start shooting for Harnath Chakraborty’s upcoming film from November. The film, which is yet to be titled, also stars Ranjit Mallick in the lead. “It is a dark comedy, where I play a bartender. Ranjit da essays the role of a police officer. The film revolves around the two of us. The female lead is yet to be finalised. I will hear the script once again as Hara da narrated me the story during the first phase of lockdown and after that, the script has been changed. I am looking forward to work with a director like him who delivered hit films like Sasurbari Zindabad, Sathi, Sangee to name a few,” said Yash, who is currently dubbing for SOS Kolkata. “Nusrat and I just shot a song for the film at Golf Green in an under-construction building,” the actor added. Yash is worried about theatres not reopening, as he feels that it will affect everyone in the entertainment industry and not just the theatre owners and distributors. “Every industry, be it food and beverage or metro services, all are opening with guidelines from the government. I still can’t figure out why theatres are not reopening? At shopping malls which are open now, there are so many people but in theatres, one can control the number of audiences as I heard that one has to keep alternate seats empty- then where lies the problem? I am sure like every other industry, here too protocols will be maintained for the safety of the audience,” said Yash.
Yash will be leaving Kolkata on Saptami for a road trip. “I will be going either to Goa or some other destination by road as I badly need a break before I start shooting for Haranathda’s film,” said the actor.
