The Tamil remake of Kannada blockbuster Mufti is on the cards, and popular actors Simbu and Gautham Karthik are playing the lead roles. Director Narthan, who helmed the original version was said to direct the remake version, and the shooting of the film has been delayed due to covid-19. however, Narthan has turned busy now as he will be directing the ‘KGF’ star Yash as his next. So, the makers of ‘Mufti’ Tamil remake eyes for a replacement, and reportedly plan to rope in Suriya’s ‘Sillunu Oru Kadhal’ director Krishna to direct the film.
After an impressive debut with ‘Sillunu Oru Kadhal’ in 2006, Director Krishna was off from work for eight years and again delivered a super hit action thriller ‘Nedunchalai’ in 2014. Krishna last directed the romantic Telugu action comedy film ‘Hippi’ starring Kartikeya Gummakonda and Digangana Suryavanshi in the lead roles. Director Krishna will be commencing the shooting of ‘Mufti’ Tamil remake earlier next year, in the meantime, Simbu will be completing the works for ‘Maanadu’, and an untitled film with Suseenthiran.
