Anshuman Pratyush’s second directorial ‘SOS Kolkata’ sees Yash sharing the screen with Mimi Chakraborty and Nusrat Jahan. The film, produced by Jarek Entertainment, tries to show characters fighting uncertainties just like people are struggling to survive this pandemic.
The story is about a suspected terrorist attack, where Yash and Nusrat play anti-terrorism officers. Mimi plays Yash’s wife. Producer Ena Saha plays a bubbly girl, Angel. As the story progresses, her brave personality is revealed to the audiences.
“My character is written based on the life of a man who exists. There are a lot of traits in common. I didn’t know this earlier. But I was told this. It’s about a man in the forces so it’s a de-glam character. When we try to build a character around a real person the job becomes tougher for an actor. We have to let go of own mannerisms and follow character traits. This is a different experience,” Yash shared during an exclusive chat with ETimes.
The shoot has already been wrapped up barring the song sequences. Since every actor is mindful of the crisis the world is in, the film too shows that there is a hero hidden inside every human being — a part of us that comes to the fore in times of crisis.
